The Eucharist is the consummation of Baptism. As
such, baptisteries and the font, in particular, are related in
design, location, and form to the Altar.
Tabernacles and ambries are secure vaults of honor
for the reserved Blessed Sacrament and Holy Oils, respectively. As such, they
serve as shrines, unto themselves.
When a corpus is placed on a
cross it is called a crucifix. With or
without the corpus, these reverent centerpieces serve as principal symbols of
faith and require the highest level of attention to detail.
